Top 5 Men with the Longest Hard-Court Grand Slam Win Streaks in Tennis History

Jannik Sinner hasn’t lost a match at a hard-court Grand Slam since the 2023 US Open — but how does his current winning streak compare to the all-time greats?

Since 1988, when the Australian Open switched from grass to hard courts, there have been two hard-court Grand Slam tournaments each year: the Australian Open and the US Open.

Let’s take a look at the five men who have put together the longest winning streaks on these two stages — the most consecutive match wins across the hard-court Slams.

1. Roger Federer

Roger Federer holds the record for the longest hard-court Grand Slam winning streak with 40 consecutive wins between the 2005 US Open and 2008 Australian Open. He won five titles in this period, beating legends like Agassi, Roddick, Baghdatis, Gonzalez, and Djokovic. His run ended in the 2008 Australian Open semifinals, where Djokovic stopped him in straight sets.

2. Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic’s best hard-court Slam streak stands at 27 matches from the 2011 Australian Open to the 2012 US Open final. He won three straight titles in that stretch and played the longest Slam final ever in 2012 against Nadal. His streak ended with a five-set loss to Andy Murray. As of August 2025, Djokovic has now set a new record with 192 hard-court Slam wins, passing Federer’s 191 after beating Cameron Norrie at the US Open. He also became the oldest man to reach the US Open fourth round since 1991.

Including ATP events, his overall hard-court streak is 25 wins. Despite a recent illness, he looks back in top form.
