The team coached by Lionel Scaloni went the entire South American World Cup qualification campaign unbeaten and finished second. With 11 wins and six draws in the qualifying meant that it was nothing short of a cakewalk for the two-time former World Champions as they amassed 27 goals on their way to Qatar.
