Cincinnati Masters Winner Prediction

The Cincinnati Open 2019 will be witnessing the reunion of the ‘Big Four’ of tennis as a while ago, the Briton, Andy Murray announced his participation in the singles discipline of Cincinnati Open.

In the Western & Southern Open 2019 draw, the defending champion, Novak Djokovic takes the top-seed, at the US Open Series in Ohio.

World Number three, Roger Federer will face Matteo Berrettini first and then followed by Wawrinka or Basilashvili in the next. Daniil Medvedev is part of Federer’s quarter. The Swiss is expected to face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarters and Djokovic in the semifinals.

Last year’s finalist, Federer will be aiming for his 103rd ATP title in Cincinnati and he had an incredible stay in the US during the first quarter of the season as he was the champion in Miami and finalist at Indian Wells.

Djokovic will open against the winner of Sam Querrey and the Frenchman, Pierre Hughes-Herbert, then followed by John Isner in the next round. In the last eight-round, he is expected to face Karen Khachanov. Nick Kyrgios is in the same quarter as Djokovic.

Last year, after winning Wimbledon Djokovic turned a ‘Golden Master’ with his win in Cincinnati, he claimed all the nine Masters titles in his career and held the ‘Big Title Sweep’ crown.

Rafael Nadal is presently in the quarters of Montreal and in Ohio, he will open against the victor of Mannarino and Garin, followed by David Goffin or Guido Pella in the next. He might face Kei Nishikori in the quarters and then Thiem or Zverev in the semifinals.

Dominic Thiem won the biggest title of his career at Indian Wells this year, and here he will face the victor of Murray and Gasquet in his opening round. In the quarters, he might face Alexander Zverev. 

Stan Wawrinka will again meet Grigor Dimitrov in the first round after they met in Montreal’s premier round.

Gael Monfils and Frances Tiafoe will open against each other. In Murray’s first singles match since the Melbourne major this year, he will face Richard Gasquet in the opening round.

Kygrios will open against Lorenzo Sonego. Denis Shapovalov will play against Fabio Fognini in the first round. Fernando Verdasco and Benoit Paire will play their first-round against each other.

After having analysed the draw, it seems like top seed Djokovic has a comparatively easier round of fixtures vis-a-vis Nadal or Federer. This could prove to be crucial in the Serb's progress to the later rounds.

He would be really confident going into the final rounds of the Cincinnati Masters and it will be really surprising if Novak is not able to defend his title.
