Harry Kane becomes fastest player to start season with 20 goals
Harry Kane continues to prove why he’s one of the best strikers in world football. The English forward found the net again in Bayern Munich’s latest UEFA Champions League victory, reaching a remarkable milestone that puts him ahead of both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the record books.
On Matchday 3 of the Champions League, Bayern Munich cruised past Club Brugge with a comfortable 4–0 victory, climbing to second place in the league phase table. Harry Kane found the net for Bayern’s second goal of the night — a strike that not only sealed his place in the club’s record books but also highlighted his incredible form.
With that goal, Kane reached 20 goals in just 12 matches across all competitions for Bayern this season — an even faster scoring pace than Messi or Ronaldo managed at their peak.
Kane surpasses Messi and Ronaldo’s record

Cristiano Ronaldo needed 13 games to reach 20 goals during the 2013–14 season with Real Madrid, while Lionel Messi hit the same milestone three times for Barcelona — each time in 17 games.
Former Tottenham star Harry Kane has firmly established himself as one of Europe’s top forwards, leading the scoring charts in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League. His latest strike took him to 45 goals in Europe’s elite competition — moving him up to 18th place all-time, ahead of legends like Didier Drogba and Antoine Griezmann.
But that’s far from his only milestone this season. Earlier this month, the England captain reached 100 goals for Bayern Munich in just 104 appearances, making him the fastest player in history to hit a century for a single club across Europe’s top five leagues. He broke the previous record held jointly by Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo, who both needed 105 games to achieve the feat.
Kane is also chasing another remarkable record. The Bayern striker has now scored in eight consecutive matches, edging closer to the all-time mark of 12 straight games, a record shared by Ronaldo and Haaland.
