Mino Raiola offers new client Jesse Lingard to AC Milan
Jesse Lingard joined Manchester United at the age of seven and has been part of the club for 20 years. The English attacking midfielder has made almost 200 appearances for the club, but has failed to be consistent. Lingard's form has further dipped in the last 12 months as he has failed to score or assist in the league in 2019.
Recently, Lingard linked up with super-agent Mino Raiola who had his share of problems with Manchester United. The super-agent, who also represents Paul Pogba, recently lashed out at the club. He vowed to not bring any player to the club as he thinks that United can ruin any player.
"Today I would no longer bring anyone there,' Raiola told Italian outlet La Repubblica. "They would also ruin [Diego] Maradona, Pele and [Paolo] Maldini."
So when Lingard linked up with Raiola, rumors began linking the Englishman to a move away from Manchester United. Sky Italia have reported that AC Milan, a club that has good relations with Raiola, have been offered a chance to sign Lingard. Due to his poor form, Lingard has started in just nine league games for the club and has been a target for United fans' ire.
A move away from Premier League might help the 27-year-old in regaining his confidence. The likes of Chris Smalling and Romelu Lukaku, who left United to join AS Roma and Internazionale, have shown that change of environment can do a world of good.
AC Milan is another traditional powerhouse which is going through a bad run. The Serie A giants are currently sitting on 12th position, and Lingard might get an opportunity to forge a legacy for himself. There he will also get a chance to link up with former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic who rejoined the club after his spell in the MLS.
Manchester United lack depth, so it would be surprising if they sanction his sale without a replacement, hence the deal might not take place before summer.
