List of players who have qualified for WTA Finals 2025
The WTA Finals 2025 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 1 to 8. This will be the second year in a row the city hosts this big season-ending tournament. It’s a special event where the top women tennis players compete to finish the year strong.
Only the best eight singles players and eight doubles teams from the season get to play here — it’s a very exclusive event! To qualify, players need to earn points throughout the year by playing in important tournaments, like WTA 1000 and WTA 500 events, and they must play at least eight of these.
For singles players, their ranking points come from their best 18 tournaments. This includes the four Grand Slams, six out of seven mandatory big WTA 1000 events, one extra WTA 1000 from Doha, Dubai, or Wuhan, plus their other best results.
The eight singles players who qualify are chosen mostly from the top seven in the rankings. Plus, any Grand Slam winners ranked in the top 20 also get priority. This way, the tournament has both consistent players and major champions.
The event starts with two groups of four players each, playing in a round-robin format (everyone plays everyone in their group). The top players from each group move on to the semifinals, and then the winners play in the final to decide the champion.

2. Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek battled through a thrilling match against Elena Rybakina to reach her first-ever Cincinnati Open final. After falling short in the semi-finals here in both 2023 and 2024, the Polish star showed incredible resilience—especially in the opening set, where Rybakina was serving for the set. Swiatek dug deep and powered her way to a hard-fought victory.
It’s been a season of highs and lows for the six-time Grand Slam champion. Following a strong start in Australia, Swiatek struggled on clay courts—somewhat uncharacteristic for the ‘Queen of Clay.’ She was unable to defend her Roland Garros title, falling to Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-finals during the Middle East swing.
But she bounced back impressively on grass, a surface that hadn’t previously been her strongest. At Wimbledon, Swiatek ended her title drought in spectacular fashion, dominating Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0. She carried that momentum onto the hard courts in Cincinnati, becoming only the second player to secure a spot in the Riyadh finals.
1. Aryna Sabalenka

With just over 100 days to go until the WTA Finals, Aryna Sabalenka has secured her spot, clinching qualification after a nail-biting quarter-final win against Germany’s Laura Siegemund at Wimbledon 2025.
The Belarusian star made it to her second Wimbledon semi-final but eventually fell to Amanda Anisimova. This year, Sabalenka—currently World No. 1—has already won four titles, including two prestigious WTA 1000 Masters at the Miami Open and Madrid Open, along with victories at the Brisbane and Stuttgart Opens. She’s also finished as runner-up in four other tournaments in 2025.
Sabalenka’s journey hasn’t been without heartbreak. She lost two tough Grand Slam finals this year—the Australian Open, where she was aiming for a third consecutive title, and Roland Garros, where she was chasing her first-ever win on the Parisian clay.
At 27, Sabalenka has been the most consistent force on the tour, surpassing 7,500 ranking points so far. As the reigning US Open champion, she still has several key events ahead before the Riyadh Finals, where she’s expected to break the 1,000-point mark and continue her impressive run.
