Man Utd enter the race for coveted French wonderkid

Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly ready to battle Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid for the signature of Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga, as per reports in England. 

But, the Red Devils also face severe competition from European heavyweights Barcelona and Juventus as well who are believed to be keen on the 17-year-old midfield wonder. 

A host of other clubs across the whole continent of Europe are all said to be watching the young defensive midfielder as well. 

However, reports in France claim that negotiations between the youngster and any potential buyer have not yet begun despite the widespread interest in the youngster. 

Rennes are desperately hoping they are able to keep hold of their prodigy, who signed a new contract last summer to tie him down until 2022. 

With the season currently suspended, Rennes sit third in Ligue 1 and are on course for a Champions League spot which is really impressive. 

If the Red and Blacks do qualify, they plan to keep the talented midfield dynamo to be a key part of their Champions League campaign.

They also hope that it could convince the youngster to stay at the club and keep up his development soaring his value. 
 

They reportedly want £52 million for the talented midfielder and have the upper hand as there is thought to be no release clause in Camavinga's contract. 

It could well be crucial due to the deep financial impact on the club due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. 

Failure to secure a Champions League place, though, could make holding on to their star youngster incredibly difficult for Rennes, especially with most of the interested parties not only offering the chance of playing elite European competition but also likely to challenge for the trophy. 

Standing at 6ft tall, Camavinga is a powerhouse in the middle of the park and has been likened to Sergio Busquets thanks to his intelligent style of play. 

For his young age, he is incredibly gifted with composure and eye for a pass and is physically strong as well. 

By the age of 16, Camavinga signed his first professional contract with the club becoming the youngest player in the club’s history to do so. 

In April 2019, he made his debut coming on as a late substitute against Angers and afterwards history by becoming the first player born after January 1, 2002 to start a game in Europe’s top five leagues, when he was named in the eleven against Monaco in May. 

His stock has continued to rise with the French youth international appearing in 36 games across all competitions this term.
