Moses Brown - A Rising OKC Thunder Prodigy in the NBA 2020-21 season?

There is something to talk about Oklahoma City Thunder and their players each year. 

It all started last season when they traded away their franchise player Russell Westbrook to Houston Rockets and the All-Star Paul George to the LA Clippers in exchange for trade picks which were close to 10-15. 

The only good player they got in exchange was Chris Paul who took them to the Playoffs last year who were eliminated by the Rockets. 

However this season, the coach changed, Paul got traded to the Suns, and the Thunder were left with Players who were either sophomore or Draft Picks. 

The NBA season of 2020-21 which could be considered the pandemic season, has mixed feelings for the OKC Thunder Franchise. 

The determination and the grit the squad produces day in and day out has been one to admire with the leadership of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander where OKC is currently 13th in the Western Conference 2 games below 10th seed Golden State Warriors.

However, there has been a player who was called up from the OKC's G-League affiliate team Oklahoma City Blue Moses Brown. 

An undrafted player in the 2019 NBA Draft who was picked up later by Portland Trailblazers and then by OKC's G-League team. 

Brown has had a breakout G-League season of 2021 where he averaged 18.5 points, 13.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game where he earned All-NBA G League 1st team and also All-NBA G League Defensive team. 

Looking at these performances, Moses Brown was called up onto the main squad of the OKC Thunder replacing Al Horford who has been rested

Moses Brown has played 16 games this season for the OKC Thunder averaging 8.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.6 blocks with 60% FG, and has been balling out in the past 3 games he has been playing. 

OKC Thunder closed down the trade deadline day with a loss against Boston Celtics, but the night was headlined by a dominant performance by Moses Brown who had to fill in the shoes of All-Star Al Horford and he did not disappoint - Moses Brown became just the 6th player in the OKC history to record a 20 point - 20 rebound game. The UCLA lad joins Russell Westbrook, Enes Kanter, Steven Adams, Nick Collison, and Serge Ibaka in the 20-20 club.

However, this 20-20 game by Moses Brown is not something ordinary - he set up the OKC Thunder franchise record for most rebounds in a half at 19. The last time someone who achieved this feat i.e scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds in the 1st half was NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal.
