The NBA Finals are finally in their conclusion state. Now that the apparently unstoppable Nuggets squad needs one more victory in the next three games to eliminate the Heat, the NBA Finals are officially on life support. On Monday, they will get their first opportunity at home, and history suggests that it could be sufficient.

The Denver Nuggets have a chance to capture their first NBA title when they return home. They defeated the Miami Heat 108-95 in Game 4 on Friday, securing their grip on the NBA Finals.

Aaron Gordon led the team in scoring with 27 points, the highest in his 39 career playoff games, and the Nuggets' offence was more evenly distributed than it was in Game 3. Denver maintained control for the majority of the game, but in the second half, it had to stop a few Miami drives.

For the Nuggets, who won their sixth straight road game to seize total control, Bruce Brown scored 21 points off the bench. They will have three opportunities to win one game for the championship, two of them in Denver, the first in what will undoubtedly be a boisterous atmosphere for Game 5.

The Heat knew that a defeat before travelling to Denver for the following game would make a difficult assignment nearly impossible going into Game 4 after dropping their previous three games at the Kaseya Centre. Miami was held to under 100 points for the third time in this series as Denver came into Dade County and defeated the Heat for the second straight game. 

The Nuggets, who have a clear size advantage over the Heat, made the most of these mismatches in the season's pivotal contest. Both teams struggled to find their range early, scoring only 41 points overall in the opening quarter.

When there was a few minutes left before halftime, the Nuggets appeared to be on the verge of blowing the game wide open by nine points. With 13 points in the first half, Kyle Lowry led the Heat's comeback and trimmed the deficit to four.

The Nuggets now head back home with a chance to win their first title in franchise history at Ball Arena on Monday night. The hill gets even steeper for the Heat who have to battle down 3-1 and get ready to hit the road hoping to keep their title dream alive. In the history of the NBA, there has only been one team that came back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals. That was the Cleveland Cavaliers when they did it against the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 Finals.
