Sergio Ramos warns FC Barcelona
Sergio Ramos was delighted to get back to winning ways as Real Madrid beat SD Eibar 3-1 in their first game after months. The club captain was also on the scoresheet at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano to close the gap back to two points. At Estadio de Son Moix, FC Barcelona won 4-0 against RCD Mallorca on Saturday.
Toni Kroos and Marcelo were the other goal scorers for Real Madrid. Los Blancos gave a strong showing in the first half but were not that convincing in the final half and consequently conceded when Pedro Bigas deflected a Pablo De Blasis shot past Thibaut Courtois.
Ramos was taken off after the hour mark as he suffered from a knock but the skipper was convinced with his side’s display as they returned to action after a long halt.
While talking to La Liga, Ramos said, “I’m happy with the three points and to start playing again. We’ve got ten more finals and we’ll give everything we’ve got. It was a bit strange for everybody after a tough time for everyone, I want to send, as captain, high spirits to everyone. It has been a strange situation, not being able to go out of the house but we always have to bring positive things out of bad things.”
After having lost more than a couple of months of football, Ramos was pleased with the way the team returned to training and the effort they put on the field. La Liga’s title race is on the verge of a dramatic ending as Real Madrid trail by just two points and a mistake by leaders FC Barcelona could turn the tables.
Zinedine Zidane has been backing his team to fight till the end and it has been pretty much the same from the Spain captain. Real Madrid though will fancy themselves and will hope for ending up as winners as Barcelona are yet to face Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, while Madrid have comparatively easier fixtures.
