Tottenham vs Chelsea Preview and Prediction: Premier League 2020/21
Tottenham Hotspur will be up for another battle at home as they prepare to host Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea in his first London Derby on Thursday.
Tottenham vs Chelsea: Preview
Both the rivals were in a tussle at the summit of the Premier League table in the initial stages of the season, but with time, both the teams would want to cement a place in the top four first and then think about Premier League glory.
The London derby will be a fierce one, with both sides on 33 points each. However, Tottenham have a game in hand. Harry Kane will be a huge miss, and Jose Mourinho would be worried about how to add a creative style to his side without his team's best playmaker cum striker on the pitch.
Chelsea, on the other hand, managed their first conquest under Thomas Tuchel, beating Burnley 2-0. Will Jose's side will come out ruthless against the Blues or will Chelsea step up.
Tottenham vs Chelsea: Head to Head
Chelsea are unbeaten in their previous 5 Head-to-Head meetings against Tottenham, having won 3 and drawn 2.
Recent Form
Tottenham have now lost successive games for the second time in between two months and things could get worse for the Special One.
Graham Potter and the Seagulls managed their first home victory against the Lilywhites, and Jose and co. would be feeling terrible after they let go of the three points so easily.
However, Tottenham do have potential three points in their hand considering they would fire well against the Cottagers and if that is the case, they will be ahead of most of the sides around them at the moment.
For Chelsea, it was the Spaniards who ran the show against Burnley on Sunday. Thomas Tuchel has made it clear already that he won't judge anyone on the basis of their game before he arrived.
He has done quite a few changes already in the two games he's been in charge of and it is interesting to see what comes next. Chelsea will play their first away game under Tuchel and with a loss in the last four out of five away games, they may be nervy about getting the ground running.
Tottenham have won three, lost two, and drawn one in their last six games, while the visitors for Thursday have lost and drawn only one of their last six, winning the other four.
Tottenham vs Chelsea: Team News
Harry Kane's absence will be a hard pill to swallow, while Dele Alli will also miss out due to injury. Tanguy Ndombele is a doubt, while summer signing Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso are sidelined for sure.
Gareth Bale did not have the game he wanted against Brighton and Hove Albion and he may find himself on the bench again.
For Chelsea, Hakim Ziyech is a doubt. N'Golo Kante is likely to feature, while there may not be many changes to the Chelsea side that won against the Clarets on Sunday.

Tottenham vs Chelsea: Prediction
The last time Spurs and Chelsea met this season in the reverse fixture, we saw a stalemate with barely any exciting plays. However, this time, Chelsea have a new manager, while Tottenham are struggling. A loss here would see Jose break some records he would never want to.
A defeat here would be the Portuguese manager's first successive home defeat in the Premier League over his huge Premier League tenure.
It would also mean that the Special One will then have failed to beat Chelsea in six efforts and a seventh would match his longest winless run against Barcelona between 2011 and 12. (7 Games)
Hopefully, this time we will have more to see from both sides.
