UEFA CL 2022-23 | Juventus vs PSG |H2H |Team News | Prediction
Juventus will look to close their Champions League campaign on high as they take to guard against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday (November 2) evening.
Despite facing elimination from the competition, the tie will have huge bearings as both teams still have something to play for. While Juventus need to match Maccabi Haifa’s result to secure a Europa League spot, PSG needs to match Benfica’s result to win the group. Any slip-up for either side could result in huge consequences.
- Juventus lost the reverse fixture in Paris by 2-1 as Kylian Mbappe scored twice
- A win for PSG will see them win the group while any slip-up could be costly
- This is the first time in eight seasons that the Old Lady have faced elimination from the competition in the group stage
Juventus vs PSG Head to Head
The teams have met only once in a competitive game with that meeting coming in September of this year. This will be PSG’s first visit to the Allianz stadium for a competitive game while they beat Juventus in the reverse fixture. A brace from Kylian Mbappe saw them seal the deal while Weston McKennie pulled one back in a narrow 2-1 win.
Juventus vs PSG Champions League season so far
The Italian side’s European campaign has not gone according to the script as they won only one match against Maccabi Haifa. Max Allegri’s side lost both its fixture to Benfica while they also lost to Maccabi Haifa away from home. The reverse fixture defeat against PSG also did not make any favors to them as they now bid to stay in the hunt for a Europa League spot.
PSG are still unbeaten in the competitor but their two draws against Benfica have seen their fate still undecided. PSG doubled Maccabi Haifa in the group stage and could become one of the rare teams in the complete history to go the entire group stage unbeaten and yet finish second. PSG are the highest scorers in the group with 14 goals and will be looking to more firepower.
