Former Manchester United forward keen on an Old Trafford return

Bournemouth forward Joshua King is desperate to return to his former club Manchester United as the Red Devils prepare to make a second offer for the 28-year-old. 

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally signed Portuguese midfield star Bruno Fernandes for £55million on Thursday but is determined to bring a new forward before the transfer window closes. 

With their star forward Marcus Rashford injured for the next couple of months, the Red Devils' issues will only intensify up front. And, Solskjaer is keen to ensure that he can sign who can fill in for the English international. 

King, who graduated from the academy of the Red Devils, has reportedly been identified as a possible recruit by Solskjaer. And, it is believed that Bournemouth have already rejected the initial offer from the Red Devils. 

The first offer the Red Devils lodged was far lower than the Cherries' valuation of the Norway international and it is understood that the north west giants have also upped their bid. 

King came through the ranks at Manchester United and spent four years on the books between 2009 and 2013 before joining Blackburn. He could only make two appearances for the Red Devils during that time, one in League Cup and another in the Champions League. 

It is reckoned that King is keen on a return to Old Trafford as he believes that he has unfinished business at the club where he grew as a youngster. 

However, it is also reported that he will not put the south coast club in pressure by demanding a transfer but a return to the Theater of Dreams is his biggest dream. 

Solskjaer, however, suggested his side's business was done for the transfer window in his press conference on Friday morning. 

Asked about another signing before the 11pm deadline, he said : “I am not sure. I don’t expect any more business to be done. I don’t think anything is going to happen. 

“Sometimes I say something here and something else happens, sometimes I say I am happy with a player and he gets a different message. 

“So I don’t want to help or make speculations grow more and more. I expect nothing to happen but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen.”
