Robert Lewandowski transfer saga looks to finally come to a conclusion as the Polish international has agreed to join Spanish giants, FC Barcelona.

Bayern Munich has accepted Barcelona's bid of £42.5 million (€50 million) plus add-ons, allowing the Polish striker to depart the German giants. 

The transaction was ultimately completed after Barcelona boosted its bid to €50 million (£42.5 million), which matched Bayern's requirement.

After months of wrangling, the agreement ultimately took a positive turn for FC Barcelona when Bayern agreed to the Spanish giants' revised offer, which satisfied the Bavarians. Meanwhile, the Polish striker agreed to terms with Barcelona way back in February.

And now, he'll sign a three-year contract that will bind him until 2025. Robert Lewandowski will finish his Barcelona transfer and be unveiled in Camp Nou in the next couple of days.

Fending off interest from other clubs:

There was interest from Chelsea and PSG, but the Bayern Munich striker was only interested in coming to Barcelona. 

With a year remaining on his contract, Lewandowski was indecisive about whether to extend it with Bayern Munich, but it looks like the 33-year-old achieved his desired transfer to Barcelona.

Despite their financial difficulties, the Catalans are experiencing one of the busiest summers and have already made extraordinary singings. 

Franck Kessié and Andreas Christensen arrived on free transfers, followed by the arrival of Brazilian winger Raphinha from Leeds for a cost of €58 million.

The transfer of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona will add an attacking force up front, as Barcelona attackers have not been clinical, and Lewandowski to Barcelona could prove otherwise.

The Polish striker stands third when it comes to highest club goals, after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Lewandowski joined Bayern Munich in 2014 and has made 375 appearances in all competitions for the club, accumulating 344 goals.

The former Dortmund player has led Bayern to eight Bundesliga titles, three German Cups, and the Champions League. And has been the league's top scorer for the sixth season in a row, scoring 35 goals in 34 Bundesliga games in 2021/22.
